Within UKGI, we have undertaken a key advisory role in the most recent high-profile transactions involving government, including the return of NatWest group to the private sector, the acquisition of Royal Mail by IDS, the acquisition of OneWeb and subsequent merger with Eutelsat, the equity raise to fund the construction of Sizewell C nuclear plant and the re-acquisition of the Annington Homes estate. Our advice ranges from supporting companies in distress, responding to major private sector mergers and acquisitions, moving companies into public ownership and commercial negotiations with the private sector.
About You
It is essential you are able to demonstrate depth of corporate finance expertise and the capability to engage with multiple senior stakeholders. You will typically have spent a decade or more at a corporate finance advisory firm, investment bank or in-house M&A team working on a range of transactions.
You should be able to evidence:
• Deep corporate finance experience, with the ability to manage all aspects of M&A and capital-raising transaction advisory processes, including reviewing and commenting on key commercial documents; undertaking strategic options, valuation, financial and capital structure analysis; and financial modelling
• The ability to use your corporate finance skills and experience to develop solutions for clients, aligning multiple client objectives and influencing stakeholders to deliver better outcomes
• The ability to advise and convey complex information clearly to senior non-financial audiences, in both written and verbal form
• Collaborative working across multiple stakeholders, whilst having the confidence to constructively challenge assumptions
• Proactivity in driving forward workstreams autonomously, whilst keeping seniors suitably informed
• Successfully managing a transaction team, including other advisers
