Project Manager
UK Government Investments (UKGI) is looking for an experienced Project Manager to provide project management capability across the organisation.
You will translate priorities into deliverable plans, maintain oversight of progress, risks and dependencies, and give senior leaders clear information and confidence in delivery. The role will bring structure, pace and transparency to a portfolio of priority initiatives.

The Role
You will operate across several projects of varying scale and maturity, often involving multiple stakeholders, tight timelines and evolving requirements. You will work with senior sponsors and delivery leads to establish proportionate delivery discipline and support timely, well-informed decisions. This role will initially work across our Financial Instruments and Transactions Advisory Group (FInTAG) and Data & Analytics Team.

Portfolio planning and prioritisation
• Develop and maintain integrated delivery plans with clear milestones, owners, dependencies and success measures.
• Translate strategic priorities into defined projects and workstreams, agreeing scope and priorities with sponsors and delivery leads.
• Maintain a forward view across relevant portfolios to identify emerging pressures, dependencies and decisions.

Project delivery and control
• Provide end-to-end project management for priority initiatives, from initiation through to delivery and close-out.
• Establish proportionate controls and maintain oversight of progress, risks, issues, dependencies, actions and decisions.
• Escalate significant delivery concerns promptly and support the development of practical mitigation plans.

Governance, reporting and assurance
• Design and implement lightweight, effective monitoring and regular reporting for team workplans and portfolios.
• Provide concise, decision-focused updates for senior audiences, covering progress, delivery confidence, key risks and critical decision points.
• Establish a regular delivery cadence and support effective governance forums, ensuring that decisions are timely and their implications are clear.

Stakeholder leadership and continuous improvement
• Build strong relationships across UKGI functions to maintain alignment and momentum.
• Promote consistent, proportionate project management practice and identify opportunities to simplify delivery processes.
• Capture and embed lessons learned to strengthen future delivery.

About you
This role is suited to an experienced project manager who is comfortable working across a portfolio, engaging senior sponsors and bringing structure to complex and evolving priorities.

Essential
• Significant experience of delivering projects or programmes, including managing multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities.
• Experience of developing and maintaining integrated delivery plans.
• Experience of applying proportionate governance and reporting, including delivery cadences, RAID logs, action tracking and decision logs.
• A strong track record of managing risks, issues and dependencies, including escalation and mitigation planning.
• Experience of portfolio management, PMO leadership or delivery assurance.
• A strong track record of working with senior sponsors and stakeholders to maintain alignment and support timely decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate strategic priorities into clear plans and recommendations.
• The ability to operate effectively in ambiguity and establish delivery structure where scope and priorities are evolving.

Desirable
• A recognised project management qualification.
• Experience of working in government, an arm’s-length body or another complex public-sector environment.
• Experience of supporting delivery in a digital, data or technology-enabled environment.
