HR Manager
This role can be offered on a full or part-time basis, or as a job share.
About the role
UKGI has grown quickly over the past two years and therefore is seeking an HR generalist to work on exciting and varied responsibilities within the HR function. The organisation is made up of c.160 professionals from both the private and public sector. This role sits within the wider Corporate Services team that works to the Chief Operating Officer, supporting them to achieve the wider People Strategy.
This role will suit a talented well rounded HR professional who is likes being involved in a wide variety of HR work
The appointed person will report into the Head of HR.
Key responsibilities are to:
Support the Head of HR to deliver against the HR Strategy
Manage the relationships with HR shared services and other providers
Deliver comprehensive and professional HR advice that supports the organisations values
Manage the annual pay review and PRP scheme, following due process and gaining necessary approvals
Support line managers in effectively managing performance, and with complaints, disciplinary or performance management issues
Review HR and Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure they comply with employment regulations.
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation
Oversee recruitment activity, advising on role specification, selection and assessment techniques and to ensure hiring managers are supported in their hiring decisions
Manage the onboarding and induction process focussing on employee experience
In conjunction with the Marketing Manager, implement recruitment marketing strategy to promote UKGI to a diverse audience, attracting top talent to the organisation
Line management of HR Administrator(s)
Required skills and experience
CIPD Level 7 qualification or equivalent experience
Extensive experience within a generalist HR role
Integrity, professionalism, discretion and maintain confidentiality essential.
Good attention to detail and ability to multi-task and manage competing deadlines.
Excellent customer service skills
Good knowledge of employment law
Knowledge and expertise in Recruitment best practice
Self-motivated and able to exercise independent judgement and make sound decisions
Confident in dealing with senior stakeholders
Demonstrable ability to work with autonomy and drive projects/processes forward
Line management experience preferred
